Can I refinance a loan to remove a co-signer?

I got an educational loan through Sallie Mae about 2 years ago with my girlfriend as a co-signer and was wondering how hard it would be to get her removed as a co-signer. Would refinancing it through Sallie Mae work? What can I do? My credit is much improved since the time I took out the initial loan
