Why are we promoting Spanish In America?

its kinda Ridiculus that they are trying to teach our kids spanish rather english im not trying to sound like a bigot or anything its just something i have wondered for a while now because i can almost Bet anything back in mexico they dont teach you English Everything there is spanish Anyone feel Free to put your Input in on why they are doing this??
